Rex L. Portsche, 77, Lincoln, died Wednesday (6/21/06). Diagnosed with acute leukemia (6/1/06). Graduated LHS, 1946. Owner, operator, Capital Floor Service for 35 years, contracted with Ernie's Store, Ceresco, for 30 plus years. Accomplished golfer, former member of Hillcrest Country Club until failing health.

Survivors: wife of 21 years, Janice Hughes Portsche, Lincoln; daughters, sons-in-law, Lyn and Gary Blum and granddaughter Rachel Blum, San Antonio, Kym and Sib Northrip, Clovis, Calif., Joy and Joel Nielsen, Lincoln; sons, daughters-in-law, Ken and Debbie Portsche, Johnston, Iowa, and grandson Justin Portsche, McKinny, Texas, and great-granddaughter Alyssa Portsche, Tod Portsche, Lincoln, Van Portsche and special friend Melanie Bruno, Manhattan, N.Y.; grandchildren, Tiffany Portsche and special friend Jay Jacobus, Mesa, Ariz., Samantha Burns, Tobias Burns, both Lincoln; extended family, Jill and Joe Kaminsky and stepgrandson Jack, Milwaukee; sisters, brother-in-law, Virginia Portsche, Lincoln, Kathleen and Jim Atchley, Mission, Texas; niece, Colleen Floth, Lincoln; former wife, Carol Portsche, Lincoln. Services: 10 a.m. today, Butherus, Maser &Love Funeral Home, 4040 A St. Pastor Clint McDonald. No visitation. Memorials: Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
